About Isabella Shinn

Isabella Maria Shinn, known as “Bella,” by her family or “Izzy” by classmates and friends was truly a bright, beautiful, witty, and loving person taken too soon.  Isabella, age 18, was struck and killed by an SUV after finishing her shift at Bruster’s Ice Cream Parlor on Brownsville Road in Trevose, PA the evening of Monday, December 5, 2022.  Isabella was taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne where they confirmed her passing Tuesday, December 6, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, Isabella was the loving and devoted daughter of Jerry and Donna (Carangi) Shinn and the older sister of Nicholas.

Isabella was prepared to graduate in June 2023 from Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster with honors and was accepted to all the many colleges she applied to in Pennsylvania. Isabella was competitive in nature and played volleyball for the Vikings and St. Bede’s CYO. She was a lover of Martial Arts and earned a second-degree black belt. Isabella also took great pleasure in teaching youth swimming lessons. Above all, Isabella was a joy to be around and loved time spent with her family and friends, especially at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Isabella is greatly missed and loved eternally by everyone who had the pleasure to be in her life and be loved by her. In keeping with her spirit, she was able to save others lives through the Gift of Life Donor Program.

“Her bright smile and contagious laugh is what drew me to befriending her. If you knew Isabella, you know that there was never a dull moment.” - Nora Arminio
